What is twice-around?

"Twice-around" networking is a method of talk-and-listen group interaction which is effective with any topic of conversation.  The step-by-step process is:

1.  Invite eight to ten people to your home.

2.  Plan to meet every other week on the same evening and at the same time.

3.  Sit around a large table (round, if possible).

4.  Everyone participating should have paper to take simple notes while others are speaking, especially if you want to respond to their topic when it's your turn to speak.

Example: Donna, resident manager - compensation.  (When it's your turn to speak, you can share your experiences or ideas with regard to resident manager compensation before you share the topic you had in mind.)

5.  One person begins talking about anything she/he desires for about five minutes.

6.  Absolutely no one interrupts the speaker.  However, the speaker may ask questions, or ask for input.

7.  When the first speaker is finished talking, the person to the left begins speaking, and the turn goes around the table until everyone who desires to talk does so.

8.  Break for 10-15 minutes.  Some groups have refreshments at this time.

9.  Repeat the process (5-6-7) outlined above.

A spirit of confidentiality is encouraged and develops very quickly.

The entire process can take as long as two hours.  At the end of the session, someone volunteers to host the next meeting.  The new host calls to remind everyone a day or two prior to the meeting.

Prepare a roster of names, addresses and phone numbers to give everyone at the second gathering.

What can you gain from "Twice-Around" Networking?

Below are a few of many positive achievements resulting in current faithful gatherings:

We shared vendors and sources for materials and services.  Shared the use of expensive tools.  Helped each other fill vacancies.  One foreclosure expert wholesales single family homes to members of the group.  Formed working partnerships to acquire larger properties.  Shared successful attitudes.  Loaned money to member/s of the group.  Shared sources of borrowing money.  Made each other aware of motivated sellers in the area (or state).

The list goes on and on...but the point is that you, too, can acquire a positive, reliable, and successful source to obtain support in whatever is important to you.
