Meeting set Monday on rental ordinance
News Sun 03/08/03
The controversial rental inspection ordinance will
be the subject of an informational meeting hosted by the city on Monday
specifically for religious leaders.
An invitation to the session, scheduled 2 p.m.
in the Bradbury room at Waukegan Public Library, was addressed to
"reverends, pastors and clergy" by Susana Figueroa-Chazaro, the city's
community liaison.
"At this meeting, you will have the
opportunity to get more details on the purpose and goals of this
ordinance," Figueroa-Chazaro wrote.
The meeting is part of a public awareness
campaign announced by the city late last month after Mayor Richard Hyde called a
temporary halt to rental inspections, which were slated to resume this month. —
